so, in a bizarre string of events, my replacement* has been hired… 6 months prior to my leave date.
i was uber shocked and kind of had a split-second “hey this is my job” feeling until i realized i made this decision months ago. it was kind of a cold splash of reality that reminded me i’m really leaving, this is really happening.
i never expected to feel this kind of attachment to a job, this sense of ownership for something that i complain about all the time. but i look at him, and i see a boy has been hired to take over my job. he has no work experience, and even asked me “what we do” here… his name is also an inanimate object but that is neither here nor there… HAHA
i could go on about the things that make him………unique but i will just say: the best thing about having a new, junior co-worker… is having someone to do the b-tch work that you hated doing before. :)
*he was technically hired to help all clients, but seeing as how i’m the only one leaving the team i think it’s fair to call him my replacement. oh Lordy, no wonder my boss hired him so early, it’s gona take me forever to train him to my standard! ;)
